Kurdish Red Crescent begins collecting donations for victims in Sweida

Emphasizing the principle of solidarity and human mutual support, the Kurdish Red Crescent in North and East Syria has begun collecting donations as part of the campaign it launched on July 23 to provide aid to those affected in Sweida.

In this context, the Crescent's centers in the cities of Girkê Legê‎, and Derik in al-Jazira Canton witnessed an influx of residents this morning to contribute to this campaign.

Maryam Hassan, an administrator at the Kurdish Red Crescent in the city of Girkê Legê‎,told ANHA agency, "The humanitarian tragedies and catastrophic conditions taking place in Sweida have prompted us to take immediate action to launch a donation campaign to help our people there."

According to the Kurdish Red Crescent, the campaign will continue in all centers spread across the cities of North and East Syria, without specifying a date for its completion.

This campaign comes as civil society organizations in North and East Syria seek to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and solidarity among the Syrian people, and to express a popular stance that rejects violence and supports all those who are subjected to injustice and marginalization.

On July 23, the Kurdish Red Crescent announced the launch of a donation campaign for those affected in the city of Sweida. Its management stated: "We invite those who wish to contribute to visit the Kurdish Red Crescent centers spread across the regions of North and East Syria. As for those residing outside Syria, you can donate your support through the campaign's designated accounts. Please mention Sweida in the purpose of the transfer box."
