Yesterday evening, an unidentified man on a motorcycle threw a hand grenade near the "Romanos the Melodist" Church in the Al-Sabil district of Homs, resulting in material damage and a wave of panic among residents. No human casualties were reported.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and the city’s security authorities have not issued any official statement regarding the identity or motives of the perpetrator.

The incident sparked widespread concern among civilians, particularly members of the Christian community, amid fears that places of worship or religious gatherings could be targeted in similar attacks. Several residents have called on the relevant authorities to strengthen security around churches, especially with several religious occasions approaching.
