Kurdish nationalists' vision in Rojava of PDK practices

Kurdish patriots in Rojava considered the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s kidnapping of journalists and politicians and the tightening of the screws on the Kurds in Southern Kurdistan, a step that harms Kurdish national interests, noting that it would be better to fight and expel Turkish intelligence, and remove Turkey’s bases from Southern Kurdistan, instead of restricting the Kurdistan Freedom Movement.

The security forces of the Kurdistan Democratic Party admitted to kidnapping the journalist and editor of Roj News Agency, Suleiman Ahmed, on October 25, upon his return from visiting the family residing in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods in Aleppo.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party authorities claimed that the reason for the kidnapping was journalist Suleiman Ahmed’s affiliation with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which was refuted by Roj News Agency. Is affiliation with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which is waging a long-term struggle against fascist forces and occupiers, now a crime? This is how a number of patriots denounced in Rojava by the actions of the PDK authorities.

“Why do they only take advantage of Kurdish journalists and kidnap them?”

Muhammad Haji Mustafa, a national figure in Aleppo, believes that it would be better for the Kurdistan Democratic Party to release journalist Suleiman Ahmed, because he is Kurdish and has the right to work in Kurdistan. He said: “It is shameful that affiliation with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party is considered a crime. They must not forget the PKK.” It was the first line for Southern Kurdistan against attacks by the occupying state and ISIS.”

Haji Mustafa called on the Kurdistan Democratic Party to preserve and support intellectual freedoms, especially Kurdish ones, especially the rights of journalists, and to live up to the name of his party, which contains the word “democratic.”

He noted that the Kurdistan Democratic Party authorities overlooked the presence of the occupied Turkish bases on the lands of Southern Kurdistan, and that the members of the Justice and Development Party AKP, which committed crimes against the Kurdish people, moved comfortably on the lands of southern Kurdistan, wondering why, “Why do they only seek power against the Kurds and the rights of Kurdish journalists and kidnap them?.

"The Kurdistan Democratic Party is afraid of exposing its dealings with the occupiers by journalists."

Fahmi Hamdi, a national figure in the same city, was not surprised by the charges and attacks carried out by the Kurdistan Democratic Party against journalist Suleiman Ahmed, including kidnapping and suppression of freedoms, given the course of this party towards the Kurdish people.

Hamdi rejected the reasons for the kidnapping justified by the Kurdistan Democratic Party authorities, saying: “The Workers’ Party is working to fulfill the aspirations of the Kurdish people for freedom,” indicating that journalists should not be kidnapped under any clause or for any reason. “The Kurdistan Democratic Party is afraid of exposing its dealings with the Turkish intelligence services.” Which is widely spread throughout the region, and thus they work to silence the mouths of journalists.”

Hamdi believed that the Kurdistan Democratic Party, instead of kidnapping Kurds on Kurdish lands, should protect Kurdistan lands from foreign interference, demanding the freedom of journalist Suleiman Ahmed.

"The real crime is betrayal to one's people."

Hassan Barko, a patriot of Afrin canton, pointed out that treason is one of the most horrific and heinous crimes, and said: “The Kurdistan Democratic Party claims that belonging to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party is a crime, but the real crime is betrayal of one’s people, and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party is the one who saved Şengal.” Makhmour and Kobani are victims of the oppression of the occupation, and it represents humanity in the world.”

Berko explained that the Kurdistan Democratic Party is a partner of the Turkish occupation state in all its plans and said: “Treason runs in the blood of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and it does what the Turkish state orders it to do. The last of these betrayals is congratulating the Barzani family on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic.”

Berko pointed out that the arrest of journalists and politicians is an attempt to suppress the voice of the Kurdish people and said: “Journalists are arrested in order to convey the voice of their people, and the arrest of journalist Suleiman Ahmed during his return from Rojava is a crime in itself. There are hundreds of members of the Turkish intelligence services in Southern Kurdistan, and instead "From their arrest, they arrest Kurdish journalists."

At the conclusion of his speech, Berko expressed his loyalty to the PKK, saying: “I am loyal and faithful to the PKK and the ideas of Leader APO. If this is a crime, so be it, and let us be the most dangerous criminals. The PKK is the flame of life.”

“The Barzani family learned treason from the family’s ally, Turkey.”

Citizen Shazia Ibrahim referred to the alliance of the Kurdistan Democratic Party with the Turkish enemy, and said: “The Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Barzani family have gone beyond the path of treason. They consider membership in the Kurdistan Workers’ Party to be a crime. Isn’t treason a crime, I wonder? He learned from his ally, the Turkish state, the arrest Journalists and politicians.

Shazia considered that the practices of the Kurdistan Democratic Party serve the enemy of the Kurdish people. She called for the release of all journalists and politicians as soon as possible.

Shazia concluded her speech by saying: “We belong to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party and are loyal to it, and let the enemy and the Kurdistan Democratic Party know well that the resistance of the people and the struggle of journalists will prevail and their truth will be revealed.”
