The Preparatory Committee for the Conference of Kurdish Parties and Forces in North and East Syria previously told ANHA's agency that the conference would be held in the city of Qamishlo on the 20th of this month. However, the latest information received confirms the postponement of the conference.

Sources attributed the postponement of the conference to technical reasons related to the lack of time and the arrival of Newroz.

On March 16, the Kurdish parties and forces in Rojava, with the exception of the Kurdish National Council, held a meeting attended by social and political forces to discuss developments in Syria and the issue of Kurdish unity.

Among the main agendas of the meeting was discussing efforts to hold a conference for Kurdish parties and forces.

Following the meeting, the political parties issued a statement revealing their discussion of a political document that included the views and perspectives of the Kurdish National Unity Parties, parties outside of them, and the Kurdish National Council.

The statement indicated the Kurdish National Council's desire to hold a special meeting with the Democratic Union Party (PYD), with the approval of all other parties, with the aim of achieving unity.

According to information we obtained from our sources, the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the Kurdish National Council, with the participation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, and representatives of the International Coalition, held a closed meeting today, closed to the media. Both parties evaluated the meeting as "positive."
