KRCD congratulates on Yazidi New Year

On the Yazidi New Year, the Confederation of Democratic Community Organizations (KRCD) called on the Yazidi community to escalate struggle for union and brotherhood in order to ward off the dangers facing them.

KRCD through a written statement congratulated the Yazidi community on the occasion of the Yazidi New Year, “Red Wednesday,” which falls on April 17.

The statement read, “Spring is characterized by the multiplicity of colors, their differences, and their beauty, similarly Mesopotamia (the Fertile Crescent), and Mesopotamia, with its national, racial, ethnic, and religious diversity and multiplicity. Every cultural and religious heritage of a component adds beauty to the rest of the components."

The statement explained that the Yazidi New Year's Day is "Red Wednesday, which carries deep historical meanings for the Yazidi Kurds and expresses their cultural and religious identity rooted in the depths of ancient Middle Eastern civilization, an identity that the enemies of humanity have tried to obliterate and annihilate over the years and eras."

KRCD called on the Yazidi community, with all its organizations, institutions, associations, sheikhs, and legal persons to escalate struggle by strengthening its societal organizational structure for strengthen the roots of union and brotherhood in order to preserve its historical authenticity.”
