Kongra Star in Lebanon issued a statement regarding the assassination of leading activist Zalal Zagros in the city of Kirkuk in Southern Kurdistan.

The statement stated:

“This brutal and treacherous terrorist attack that targeted the leader, Zalal, created a state of anger and denunciation among the ranks of all women and created a greater motivation for them than before to escalate their struggle further against the policies of political genocide and the special war that Erdogan has been leading against women for years in the region, especially Kurdish women. Of course, the assassination of Comrade Zalal at this sensitive and important time indicates the amount of hatred and hatred that Erdogan and his group have towards women struggling against the terrorist and fascist mentality that he is trying to spread in the region through his security services.”

It added: "Every day, Erdogan frankly reveals his hostility toward women, because he fears organized women who never know the limits of struggle. But let everyone be aware that we will all follow in the footsteps and goals of the martyred female leaders and entrepreneurs, who were targeted by the ruling authoritarian regimes, and that we will always and forever. We will raise our voice loudly, and let the whole world hear that we will not yield to threats and intimidation.”

The statement demanded: “The international community and human rights organizations reveal the circumstances of the brutal crime committed against our comrade and martyr Zalal and all the crimes and assassinations committed against women, and that the killers be arrested as soon as possible and brought to justice so that they may receive punishment for their criminal actions.” also pledged "to follow its path and the path of the martyrs in order to achieve freedom, justice, equality, and build a free, democratic society."
