Kobani residents bid farewell to SDF fighter, vow to continue struggle

The funeral ceremony began with a minute of silence in tribute to the martyrs and their sacrifices. Hassan Koçer, Co-Chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration, then delivered a speech in which he commemorated Dilsouz and his comrades, stressing that keeping their memory alive means remembering all the martyrs of the Freedom Revolution.

He said martyrdom represents the highest form of sacrifice and patriotism, noting that those who defend their land and people and sacrifice their lives embody the values of patriotism and morality.

Koçer said the sacrifices of the martyrs had contributed to protecting the will and dignity of the Kurdish people, stressing that the people had demonstrated their ability to defend themselves and defeat ISIS mercenaries.

Concluding his speech, he stressed the need to continue the struggle against “special warfare” and step up resistance, emphasizing that the people’s will would not be broken and that the resistance would continue in the spirit of the martyrs.

The ceremony concluded with the reading of Dilsouz Judi’s martyrdom document, which was handed to his family before his body was laid to rest amid ululations and chants of “Martyrs are immortal.”
