The EU's foreign policy chief, Kaya Kallas, warned today that the ceasefire in Syria remains "fragile," stressing the need for cooperation among Syrian parties to reach an inclusive and participatory government that leaves no one out.

In statements to the media, Kallas said that "the ceasefire agreement concluded between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Interim Government is not strong enough," adding, "What we are hoping for is for the Syrian forces to work together to establish an inclusive government and achieve genuine national reconciliation."

Kaya Kallas added that the European Union fully supports this process, noting that there are internal discussions regarding the timing of raising the level of bilateral communication with Syria, with the aim of addressing concerns and outstanding issues.
