Karayılan: Lack of concrete steps, imposition of surrender effectively halt peace process

Murat Karayılan; the member of the People's Defense Center's leadership, assessed the struggle of the working class on the occasion of May 1st Day, and made important statements regarding the future of the "peace process and democratic society."

The interview text is as follows:

Tomorrow, May 1st, is the Labor Day. What would you like to say in this respect?

I congratulate the workers and laborers of Kurdistan and the entire world on the arrival of May 1st Day, a day of struggle, solidarity, and unity. I remember with the utmost respect and appreciation the martyrs of May 1st Day in Taksim, and all the martyrs of the revolution who promoted to martyrdom in the month of May, and we reaffirm our commitment and loyalty to their memory.

In the history of humanity, labor is the highest value. The foundatio0n of human civilization and the science we have today rests on human labor and work, and therefore it is a sacred value. We, as the Apoist movement, consider ourselves a labor movement.

When we look at the roots of our movement, its origins, its various stages of struggle, and all its paths up to the present day, it becomes clear that it is one of the greatest labor movements in history.

Leader Apo's tireless efforts in the formation of our movement and the organization of our struggle are undeniable. However, his contributions were not limited to our movement alone; he also made significant contributions to the socialist world and the global working-class movement. In particular, his efforts in uncovering the reasons for the collapse of real socialism and developing a vision for a new socialist stage were substantial and influential.

The new model he developed, embodied in the concept of community democratic socialism centered on women's liberation, is among his most important contributions to the cause of working-class socialism worldwide. As one Latin American academic described him at a conference in Istanbul, Leader Apo's analyses have become a beacon for all humanity. In the face of the brutality of capitalist modernity, he has become an unquestionable source of renewed faith in revolution. In addition, another foreign academic expressed the same sentiment at the same conference.

Leader Apo's intellectual works, translated into several foreign languages, have sparked international debate. His vision, particularly regarding the concepts of the commune and communalism, is remarkable, as it represents the fundamental form of organization from the dawn of humanity to the present day and forms the basis of democratic socialism. From this foundation, the struggle to develop the new international process of the working people and the people is a revolutionary endeavor worthy of appreciation and enthusiasm.

I once again congratulate all the working people and internationalist comrades who participated in this effort on the occasion of May 1st Day, wishing great success to the forces of revolutionary struggle. I call upon everyone to participate in the May 1st Day celebrations at this important historical juncture, which holds profound significance.
