K Star: Martyr Manija Haidar fought with great will and determination for women's freedom

The K Star issued a written statement regarding the Turkish occupation state's targeting of shifters in the Tishreen Dam on Saturday, which resulted - in an endless toll - in the martyrdom of 4 citizens and the injury of 15 others, some of them seriously.

The K Star expressed its strong condemnation of Turkey's brutal attacks targeting civilians, and the recent attacks on the Tishreen Dam in particular.

The statement pointed out that the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries launched more than a month ago violent attacks targeting the Tishreen Dam and Qarqazaq, as well as targeting the people on duty in the Tishreen Dam who are heading there to support their sons, to protect the sources of life, and to protect the entire region from the danger of the collapse of the Tishreen Dam and spare them from a humanitarian disaster that may befall them.

The statement pointed out that all these reasons do not concern the fascist Turkish state, so it launches its attacks in a brutal and systematic manner, without any distinction between women and children, committing crimes against humanity clearly and without any regard for international conventions or human rights.

It pointed out that among the martyrs of the Tishreen Dam yesterday, "Comrade Manija Haidar, who comes from a patriotic family that embraced the movement since its inception, and provided everything necessary to spread the thought and philosophy of the leader Abdullah Ocalan," where a number of young people joined the movement and provided martyrs for the sake of Kurdish identity and existence.

The statement mentioned the struggle of the martyr Manija Haidar, and said: "Since the beginning of the Rojava revolution, she has been involved in work, where she had a prominent role in establishing the women's movement, starting communes, she struggled with all will and determination to reach all women and organize them to be pioneers of the women's revolution."

The statement added: "On this path, she completed her struggle career, and fulfilled her duty as spokesperson for the K Star in the city of Qamishlo for 4 years and then as a spokesperson for the social committee at the level of Rojava," and then assumed the duties of a member of the party's general council and co-head of the party's office in Qamishlo.

"Comrade Manija Haidar had the first goal in her struggle to achieve freedom for all women, bring them to the shores of security and stability, and achieve equality for them in the fields of life on the basis of a free life of equality," the statement said.

The statement stressed that the activist Manija Haidar insisted on going within the convoy heading to the Tishreen Dam to support the Syrian Democratic Forces, the Women's Protection Units and the People's Protection Units, where she was accompanied by the slogan "Women, Life, Freedom" until the moment of her martyrdom, on Saturday.

Through the statement, the K Star called on the international community to assume its responsibility in standing against this blatant aggression, and appealed to humanitarian and human rights organizations to take urgent action to stop these violations and protect civilians.

"We will continue to demand our right to defend ourselves and our land by all legitimate means."
