K. Star in Lebanon: Turkey targets voice of truth in NE Syria

The Kongra Star confirmed that the Turkish occupation's targeting of journalists Jehan Belkin and Nazim Dashtan is a blatant attack on press freedom and human rights, calling for an international investigation and accountability for those responsible.

The Kongra Star in Lebanon expressed its strong condemnation and deep concern over the attack on ANHA agency's journalists Jehan Belkin and journalist Nazim Dashtan, while they were covering the attacks of the Turkish occupation state on the road between Tishrin Dam and the town of Sarin, and the injury of the driver Aziz Hajj Bouzan.

The Kongra Star indicated in a statement that the repeated targeting of journalists is targeting the free speech and an attempt to silence the voices that convey the truth and expose the crimes and violations committed by the Turkish occupation against the people of NE Syria.

The Kongra Star called on the United Nations and civil society to intervene immediately and take the necessary measures to protect journalists and ensure their safety while performing their professional duty.

The statement also called for an independent international investigation into this heinous crime and holding those responsible accountable.
