K. Star Council: Achieving Leader's physical freedom is collective duty

Kongra Star Council issued a written statement today regarding the international conspiracy that targeted Leader Abdullah Ocalan on October 9, 1998, marking 26 years since it began.

The text of the statement reads as follows:

"Twenty-six years have passed, and the threads of the international conspiracy that was woven against Leader Abdullah Ocalan on October 9, 1998, are still continuing. The leader was forced to leave Syria, and through an international piracy operation involving global hegemonic forces and some regional states complicit with them, he was kidnapped and handed over to Turkey. The falsity of all the friendships that were established with the leader was exposed.

This conspiracy, which targeted the Kurdish people and all freedom-seeking peoples in Kurdistan and the Middle East in general, aimed to sever the historical relations between the peoples of the Middle East to implement the Greater Middle East Project. This project serves their expansionist and colonialist interests in the region and redraws a new map for it that serves global capitalist interests, which do not accept the liberation movements of peoples, their free will, or the awareness and will that women have developed through the proposals and ideas of the philosopher of the era, who addressed all societal issues, including the women's issue, in the arenas of struggle. This conspiracy was thwarted from the beginning through popular resistance, forming a circle of fire that was ignited by the bodies of the martyrs, the sons and daughters of our people, who cried out for freedom and declared, 'You cannot obscure our sun!' With an iron will and the solidarity of all peoples calling for freedom against authoritarian and oppressive regimes, the conspiracy was resisted.

The international conspiracy, whose threads are still ongoing through an intensified isolation and a systematic torture regime imposed by these conspiratorial forces on the person of Leader Apo, has been defeated by the leader through historical resistance. He turned the Imrali prison into a source of thought and philosophy for free life, despite the harsh conditions of isolation and the torture system imposed on him.

This resistance was embodied in the insistence of the people to resist and rally around his thought and philosophy, according to the model he developed in the approach of the democratic nation and the philosophy of 'Woman, Life, Freedom' against the policy of genocide carried out by these authoritarian regimes, the nation-state system, and their chauvinistic, religious, and patriarchal lines. It also opposed the line of betrayal represented by the Kurdistan Democratic Party, which is complicit with the enemies of the Kurds and their hostile policies toward the Rojava Revolution and the gains achieved with the blood of martyrs, as well as the Kurdish liberation movement, which is the protective force of the will of the oppressed peoples.

We are living through a decisive historical phase, a historical turning point in which all humanity faces attacks from global imperialist forces and the Third World War, which is particularly affecting the peoples and women, and is a continuation of the conspiracy. Along with the torture system practiced against the leader, who proposed solutions to all societal issues, especially the women's issue, which became the key to solving all crises, the international conspiracy against the leader is an extension of these crises and their perpetuation. It is a roadblock to the solutions in this historical phase, in which these hegemonic regimes and capitalist states are creating wars and conflicts among peoples in every geographic area they see fit, using them as testing grounds for their economic and political projects, and places for their influence and control.

The conflicts and wars that are waged make the peoples the victims, and this is what is happening today with the killing, displacement, and destruction inflicted on the Kurdish people and all the peoples in this geography by the Turkish occupation state and its attacks with drones targeting civilians, women, children, and leaders from the sons and daughters of the region who are defending their areas. Additionally, the ongoing war in Gaza and Lebanon, with the killing, destruction, and displacement occurring, and all these wars being waged without regard for any humanitarian rules, international laws, including the use of chemical weapons, which are being used in the mountains of S. Kurdistan and northern Iraq. These wars are a continuation of the international conspiracy that began with the person of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, who has provided solutions to all these crises, wars, and conflicts, which have reached the peak of destruction and devastation for humanity and nature alike.

This places the responsibility on all of us, on all the peoples of the Middle East and the world, and on all societal segments to expand the struggle, intensify demands, and increase the level of campaigns demanding the physical freedom of Leader Apo. This is because the freedom of peoples and societies is tied to the physical freedom of Leader Apo.

We strongly condemn all the states that participated in this conspiracy, and we affirm that these practices and the isolation imposed on the leader only increase our determination and the determination of the peoples to resist and rally around the thought and philosophy of the democratic nation and women's freedom. The philosophy of 'Woman, Life, Freedom,' which has become a global revolution led by women, will thwart all the conspiracies being woven against our people and against the philosophy and ideas of the leader. His enlightened approach serves all the peoples struggling for freedom and aims to build an ethical, political, and ecological society based on the principle of women's freedom. We call on all freedom-loving peoples and all women around the world to take to the streets and participate in protests condemning the international conspiracy and demanding the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan.”
