Journalists, comrades of Martyr Seydo Afran commemorate 3rd of his martyrdom

Journalists in Qamishlo commemorated journalist and martyr Seydo Afran, reaffirming their commitment to following his path and continuing to convey the truth to the people.

Journalists and comrades of martyred journalist Seydo Afran commemorated the third anniversary of his death today during a memorial ceremony held at his grave in the Martyr Dalil Sarokhan Shrine in the city of Qamishli, attended by dozens of his comrades.

The ceremony began with the lighting of candles at the martyr’s grave, followed by a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs. Idris Hanan, Co-Chair of the Free Media Union, then delivered a speech in which he offered his condolences to the family of martyr Seydo Afran.

He praised the martyr’s career and his role in the field of free media, as well as the legacy he left in journalism. He stressed that Afran had contributed to supporting and developing media work and journalists throughout the years of the revolution.

He emphasized that those working in free media had learned a great deal from the experience of Seydo Afran and pledged to continue following his path and conveying the truth to the people.

The ceremony concluded with the participants chanting: “Martyrs are immortal.”
