Iraqi National Security Adviser Qasim al-Araji announced in a press statement that a joint delegation from the federal government and the Southern Kurdistan Regional Government will soon visit Tehran to discuss the attacks that targeted the Kurdistan Region and other Iraqi areas during the past period.

The announcement came following talks held in Baghdad by Southern Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and several political forces regarding the outstanding issues between Baghdad and Hawler.

Al-Araji explained that the delegation will represent Baghdad within the work of the Iraqi-Iranian Higher Security Committee, which will discuss in detail the attacks witnessed in the region during the recent military conflict.

For his part, Barzani confirmed that al-Araji renewed his rejection of targeting the Kurdistan Region and any other Iraqi area, stressing the importance of security coordination between the two sides.
