During the tour, a meeting was held on Monday in Raqqa, bringing together the commander of the Internal Security Forces in Hasaka Governorate Brigadier General Marwan al-Ali, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) commander Mahmoud Khalil (Siyabend Afrin), and the governor of Raqqa Abdel Rahman Salama.

After discussing the security and service situation in Raqqa and its countryside, the meeting addressed the situation of the Kurds in the region, emphasizing the need to guarantee their safe return to their homes in Raqqa, within the broader context of the process of returning displaced persons to their areas.

According to ANHA correspondent accompanying the security delegation, the two sides agreed to form a joint committee to ensure the safe return for the Kurds to their homes in Raqqa. Further information regarding the nature and operational mechanisms of this committee is not yet available.

Hours before the meeting, Mahmoud Khalil; the leader of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish), visited the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, accompanied by officials from the Syrian Interim Government, to inspect the situation there.

Khalil (known as Siyabend Afrin) had arrived in Afrin the previous day, accompanied by Brigadier General Marwan al-Ali; the commander of the Internal Security Forces in Hasaka Governorate; Mohamed Abdel Ghani; the commander of the Internal Security Forces in Aleppo Governorate, and Saraqa Amouri; the leader of the governorate's Internal Security.

According to the delegation, the visit was part of the ongoing coordination with the city administration to facilitate the return of Afrin displaced residents currently residing in other areas and cities of Rojava, and to address the security and administrative challenges associated with the return process.
