Jindires marks Peshmerk Family anniversary

Residents of Jindires in the Afrin countryside commemorated the anniversary of the martyrdom of members of the Peshmerk family, who were martyred by Turkish-backed armed factions after lighting the Newroz flame.

The town of Jindires in the Afrin countryside witnessed an event this evening marking the third anniversary of the Peshmerk family martyrs, who were martyred by Turkish-backed armed groups.

The event was held in response to a call from the family, as residents gathered in front of the family’s home and lit the Newroz flame, before heading to the cemetery where the martyrs of Newroz 2023 are buried there، they commemorated them by lighting candles on their graves.

It is worth noting that on the night of Newroz, March 20, 2023, an armed group affiliated with Turkish-backed factions opened fire on members of the Peshmerk family in Jindires after they lit the Newroz flame. This attack resulted in the martyrdom of: Nazmi Mohammed Othman (53), Farhad al-Din Mohammed Othman (45), Mohammed Farhad al-Din Mohammed (19), and Mohammed Mohammed Othman (38).
