Israeli incursion into Quneitra countryside amid intense airstrikes

The Quneitra countryside witnessed a new escalation today, as an Israeli force consisting of ten military vehicles penetrated Syrian territory, coinciding with intense low-flying Israeli reconnaissance flights over the area.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an Israeli patrol consisting of two military vehicles entered the village of Ofaniya in the northern Quneitra countryside and set up a temporary checkpoint on the Ofaniya-Al-Hurriya road, opposite the old Al-Rayhana checkpoint.

At the same time, another patrol penetrated the village of Saida Al-Hanout in the southern Quneitra countryside, without any clashes or objections from local forces.

Yesterday, the southern Quneitra countryside witnessed an incursion by Israeli forces. Five military vehicles loaded with soldiers entered from the Tal al-Ahmar al-Gharbi base toward the Al-Rafid-Al-Asha road and set up a checkpoint on the road. Another force consisting of five four-wheel-drive military vehicles also entered the town of Ruwaihinah in the central Quneitra countryside, setting up a temporary checkpoint where they searched passersby and vehicles.

This move comes amid escalating tensions in the southern region, raising concerns of broader security repercussions for the stability of the Quneitra countryside.
