The central countryside of Quneitra witnessed a sudden incursion by an Israeli military force today, Saturday, involving several armored vehicles and heavy machinery. The force entered the road connecting the towns of Khan Arnabeh and Jaba at midnight.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the force set up a temporary checkpoint on the outskirts of Jaba before launching a search operation targeting homes in the "Harat al-Saqri" neighborhood in search of weapons. No clashes or arrests were reported. The operation lasted for about two hours, after which the troops withdrew back to their positions inside the Golan Heights.
This incursion comes less than 24 hours after a similar operation carried out by Israeli forces in the village of Maariya in western rural Daraa. A tank and several armored vehicles entered the area after midnight on Thursday-Friday and raided the home of a volunteer affiliated with the Ministry of Defense under the Damascus authority, allegedly searching for weapons.
In a related development, the same force carried out a sweep operation targeting a mortar unit near the village of Abidin in the Yarmouk Basin (Hawd al-Yarmouk) area, sparking tension and concern among local residents. These military movements reportedly originated from the "Al-Jazeera" garrison located west of the village of Maariya.
