Residents told ANHA correspondents that Israeli forces shelled the Ain al-Shaara area near Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside about an hour ago. The shell landed in agricultural land, with no injuries reported so far.

Around 10 Israeli military vehicles, accompanied by bulldozers, entered the Beit Jinn countryside following the shelling. No further information was available about the purpose of the incursion.

The Ain al-Shaara area lies within the cluster of towns around Beit Jinn in the western Damascus countryside, near Mount Hermon, where Israeli forces are stationed.

The shelling comes amid repeated Israeli attacks on the area around Beit Jinn and the western Damascus countryside in recent days. The latest came yesterday, when Israeli forces shelled the outskirts of Mazraat Beit Jinn, hours after firing several shells at Bat al-Warda Hill near the town.

Beit Jinn was also targeted by an Israeli drone on August 22, in an attack that injured civilians.
