Islamic Union announces its non-participation in the formation of KRG

The Kurdistan Islamic Union announced today its choice of the opposition approach in the parliament of the federal region of South Kurdistan and its non-participation in the formation of the government, and expressed its readiness to travel to South Korea to verify the integrity of the electronic voting devices for the region's elections.

The Kurdistan Islamic Union announced its choice of the opposition approach in the parliament of the federal region of Souther Kurdistan and its non-participation in the formation of the government, in a statement carried by Roj News Agency.

The union noted, "We evaluated the electoral process in Kurdistan, and discussions were held about the violations that accompanied it, and the High Elections Commission was assigned to coordinate with other concerned parties to follow up on these issues and take the necessary measures."

According to the statement, the Kurdistan Islamic Union unanimously decided "not to participate in the next government, and to continue adopting its opposition approach within parliament." It expressed its readiness to travel to South Korea to verify the integrity of the electronic voting machines for the region's elections.
