ISF member martyred,2 others injured in ISIS attack

The Internal Security Forces of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria stated that following the attacks by "armed terrorist factions" supported by the Turkish occupation state on several areas in Syria, causing chaos, destruction, and displacement, ISIS mercenaries exploited the situation to reactivate their operations in NE Syria.

In a statement issued today (December 6), the forces reported that ISIS targeted one of their patrols while it was performing its security duties in the area between Al-Shaddadi and Markadah. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of one member and injuries to two others.

The statement affirmed:

"We, in the Internal Security Forces of NE Syria, emphasize that these cowardly attacks will not deter us from fulfilling our duty to protect our people and combat terrorism in all its forms. We also reaffirm our commitment to continue efforts to eliminate ISIS cells and eradicate their threats to the region's security and stability."

The forces expressed their condolences to the family of the martyr, saying:

"We honor the soul of our martyr who sacrificed his life to defend the safety and stability of our people, and we wish a swift recovery to the injured."

The statement also called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and "support our efforts to confront the threat of terrorism and address ongoing violations that undermine the region's stability."
