During its eleventh session held today and chaired by Speaker , with the attendance of several security leaders, the council discussed regional developments and their repercussions on Iraq.

During the session, the council condemned all attacks targeting Iraqi sovereignty and the positions of security and military forces. It reaffirmed its categorical rejection of using Iraqi land or airspace for hostile acts against neighboring countries and stressed that Iraq should not be dragged into regional conflicts.

The council also renewed its full support for state institutions, particularly the military and security forces, in taking the necessary measures to protect borders, safeguard national sovereignty, and secure diplomatic missions. It called on the and regional and international organizations to intervene to stop violations and respect international agreements.

The council emphasized several key decisions, including:

Calling on political forces to complete constitutional obligations, foremost the election of the president and the formation of a national unity government.

Obligating the government to take the necessary measures to protect the country’s sovereignty and security.

Preventing the use of Iraqi land, waters, or airspace as a launching point for any hostile act against neighboring states.

Forming a parliamentary committee to investigate violations affecting national sovereignty.
