Iranian authorities have sentenced activist Nargis Mohammadi to prison. The authorities have sentenced women's rights activist Nargis Mohammadi, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, to one year in prison on charges of propaganda against the state.

The lawyer, who posted on the X platform, explained that his client, who is behind bars, had been tried for her statements about Iranian journalist and student Dina Kalibaf, who was arrested after accusing the police on virtual networks of sexually assaulting her. Additionally, she made statements about boycotting the March legislative elections.

It is reported that activist Nargis Mohammadi, who has been detained in Iran since November 2021, won the Nobel Prize in 2023. She has been imprisoned repeatedly for 25 years for refusing to wear the veil and opposing the mandatory death penalty.
