The HRANA Human Rights Organization reported that Iranian authorities executed 1,537 people, among them 49 women, in East Kurdistan and other parts of Iran over the past thirteen months.

The organization explained that among those executed were three minors under the age of eighteen, while 191 additional people were sentenced to death during the same period.

According to the HRANA report, the reasons for the executions were distributed as follows; 1.89% were for financial charges, 1.69% for political and security charges, 0.85% for religious charges, and 0.85% for drug and bombing-related offenses.

The organization confirmed that most of these executions were carried out without due process, fair trial guarantees, or enabling the defendants to defend themselves.

Documents and reports indicate that the rate of executions in East Kurdistan and Iran has been steadily increasing since 2021, peaking in 2025.
