The forces held them fully responsible for the crime and called on the international community and human rights and humanitarian organizations to open an investigation and hold all those involved accountable.

The Media Center of the Internal Security Forces issued a statement regarding the death of a child following the targeting of civilians east of Raqqa canton by mercenaries of the interim government.

The statement said: “Factions of the interim government carried out an attack on the homes of civilian residents east of Raqqa, in the village of Ghanem Al-Ali, resulting in the injury of the child Abdul Ilah Issa Al-Balil, who later died from his wounds.

These repeated crimes reflect a clear disregard for the lives of civilians and are added to the record of ongoing violations against the people of the region, amid shameful international silence and an evident failure to protect civilians.

Accordingly, we hold the factions of the interim government fully responsible for this crime and call on the international community and human rights and humanitarian organizations to assume their responsibilities, open an urgent and transparent investigation, hold all those involved accountable, and work seriously to stop these repeated violations against unarmed civilians.”
