KRI's President meets SDF and Kurdish leaders

The Presidency of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq (KRI) revealed that the President of the region met with the leadership of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Autonomous Administration, and the Syrian Kurdish National Council, discussing the latest developments in Syria and the importance of promoting peace and dialogue to restore stability in the region.

The official website of the Kurdistan Region Presidency reported that President Nechirvan Barzani received today the SDF commander, Mazloum Abdi, SDF General Command member, Rohalat Afrin, Co-President of the Foreign Relations Department of the Autonomous Administration, Ilham Ahmed, and the President of the Syrian Kurdish National Council, Mohammed Ismail.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the latest developments in Syria, including clashes between the Syrian army and the SDF, emphasizing the importance of consolidating peace and ending military tensions and violence.

The meeting also stressed that dialogue is the only way to peacefully resolve issues and achieve coexistence among Syria’s communities. They discussed practical steps to restore stability in areas affected by war and conflict and exchanged perspectives on the overall situation in Syria.
