Internal Security Forces member martyred, in Qamishlo countryside

The Internal Security Forces Command in Hasakah announced that one of its members was martyred and two employees of the al-Jazeera Oil Company were injured in an attack targeting a patrol in the countryside of Qamishlo.

The Hasakah Internal Security Forces Command issued a statement today regarding an armed attack on a patrol on the Qamishlo–Hasakah road.

According to the statement, two unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire this evening on a patrol affiliated with the Facilities Protection Forces near Cordoba University on the M4 highway, close to the Ambara junction in Qamishlo.

The attack killed Internal Security Forces member Abdul Aziz Faisal Hassan, 18, and injured two employees of the al-Jazeera Oil Company.

The statement said the two employees were traveling with a patrol of Facilities Protection Forces at the company administration’s request, with the aim of escorting them to the group accompanying oil tanker trucks.

The attackers fled the scene, while the relevant authorities launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of the attack and identify those responsible.
