Internal Forces in Aleppo urge residents not to swayed by false news 

In a statement published on its official website, the Leadership of the Internal Security Forces in Aleppo condemned the dangerous attacks carried out by mercenaries of the interim government against the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh, and Bani Zaid.

The statement urged residents of the targeted neighborhoods to strictly remain in their homes and not be influenced by false news and rumors intended to force displacement and trigger waves of displacement, stressing that “the voices of sedition continue their own barbaric war to undermine the determination of our forces.”

The statement read: “We, in the Leadership of the Internal Security Forces in Aleppo, express our strong condemnation of the dangerous attacks launched by rogue factions affiliated with the Damascus government against the residents of the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh, and Bani Zaid in the city of Aleppo, which have resulted in civilian casualties and extensive damage to property, constituting a blatant violation of all humanitarian laws and norms.

The current escalation is nothing but a direct result of the aggressive policies and repeated provocations practiced by these factions, beginning with the imposition of a suffocating security and humanitarian siege, and extending to attempts to advance with tanks and armored vehicles, and the targeting of residential neighborhoods with mortar shells, rocket launchers, Grad rockets, and drones.

We call on our people in the neighborhoods targeted by these factions to strictly remain in their homes and not be drawn into false news and rumors aimed at displacement and creating a state of migration. The voices of sedition continue their own barbaric war relentlessly to undermine the determination of our forces. We also call on residents to maintain close cooperation, as we have always known them, with the Internal Security Forces and to support them with loyalty and national spirit.

While we hold the Damascus government fully and directly responsible for these violations and the dangerous escalation that threatens the lives of thousands of civilians and undermines stability in the city, we call on international organizations and human rights and humanitarian bodies to assume their responsibilities and take immediate action to exert pressure to halt these aggressive attacks and lift the unjust siege imposed on the residents of the aforementioned neighborhoods.

We, in the Internal Security Forces in Aleppo, affirm to our people that we are present with determination and strength to repel any attempt aimed at undermining your security and safety.”
