Intellectuals, Politicians: Turkey seeks to strike DAA by inciting sectarian tensions

 In conjunction with the attack launched by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham on the forces of the Baathist regime on November 27, the Turkish occupation state directed its mercenaries in the "Syrian National Army" to attack the region of NE Syria. In this context, intellectuals and political activists from the city of Tal Tamr spoke about the goals of the Turkish occupation in Syria, stressing the need to confront the plans that target the unity of the Syrian people and their democratic experience.

 The member of the Union of Intellectuals of Jazira Canton, Muhammad Nour Al-Ahmad, indicated that the downfall of the Bashar Al-Assad regime came as a result of a long struggle by the Syrian people, especially the people of NE Syria who resisted tyranny and injustice.

 " There is now widespread chaos sweeping Syria due to the spread of armed factions and the intervention of regional powers, such as the Turkish occupation state, which seeks to thwart any political solution that guarantees the rights of the Syrian people," al-Ahmad said.

 "The attacks of the Turkish occupation aim to destroy the experience of the Autonomous Administration that was built on the principle of the democratic nation and brotherhood of peoples," al-Ahmad added.

 Al-Ahmad pointed out that the DAA played a pivotal role in peaceful coexistence and protecting the Syrians, and was part of the efforts that toppled the Assad regime and liberated the regions from ISIS mercenaries.

 He stressed that the Syrian people believe in the experience of the Autonomous Administration, whose people have offered thousands of martyrs to reach a unified and democratic Syria.

"No matter what the occupying Turkish state does, it will not succeed in breaking the unity of people of NE Syria."

 Al-Ahmad concluded his speech by emphasizing the commitment of the Union of Intellectuals to conveying the views of the Syrian people and working for the unity and independence of Syria.

 For her part, political activist Madeleine Al-Obeid stressed that the Syrian people have long suffered from the tyranny of Bashar Al-Assad's regime, but she wondered about the future of Syria and the fate of its people after the fall of the regime.

 "We notice that Turkey and other countries are seeking to exploit the fall of the Assad regime to destabilize security and stability, and play a role in dismantling the Syrian ranks by fueling sectarianism," Madeleine said.

She explained that ISIS mercenaries have returned to activity in many Syrian regions, taking advantage of the chaos, all with the support of foreign countries, most notably the occupying Turkish state.

 Al-Obeid added that the Rojava Revolution, which coincided with the Syrian crisis managed to protect civilians in NE Syria despite all the challenges.

 She called on the Syrian people to unite and be aware of the conspiracies being hatched against them, stressing that "this land is ours, and we must stand united to liberate the occupied areas and confront our enemies."
