Intellectuals: Leader Ocalan’s physical freedom can support peace, democratic Solution

Several members of the Jazira Union of Intellectuals, Garkê Legê branch, affirmed that securing the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan is an essential step toward promoting justice, peace, and coexistence among the peoples of the region. They emphasized the importance of his role in advancing efforts for a peaceful solution to the Kurdish issue.

In this context, Jazira Union member Bankin Adam explained that leader Abdullah Ocalan is one of the most prominent advocates of peace in the region. He cited leader Ocalan’s initiatives for a peaceful resolution and the peace process in Turkey, which he said paved the way for coexistence and greater stability among peoples.

He added that Turkey is required to take practical and serious steps, foremost among them the release of leader Abdullah Ocalan. He noted that peaceful solutions to unresolved issues, including the Kurdish question and guaranteeing Kurdish rights, require benefiting from leader Ocalan’s vision based on dialogue and mutual understanding.

For his part, Jazira Union member and writer Bradost Mitani stated that achieving peace and stability in the Middle East, particularly in Kurdistan, is linked to enabling leader Ocalan to play a role in strengthening dialogue among peoples.

He pointed out that the region is going through a sensitive period that requires serious initiatives to reinforce security and peace.

Meanwhile, Jazira Union member Sheikhmous Juma said that Turkey has not yet taken sufficient steps in line with the requirements of the peace process, despite the initiatives proposed in this regard.

He emphasized that the release of the leader would be a practical indication of seriousness in supporting peaceful solutions and addressing unresolved issues through dialogue.

Juma also noted that recognizing Kurdish rights and enhancing the chances of success for the peace process require tangible measures. He concluded by saying that leader Abdullah Ocalan’s participation in and supervision of any negotiation process could contribute to achieving more sustainable and comprehensive results.
