The Parliament Presidency has set July 31, 2025, as the deadline for the parties to submit their candidates, marking the official commencement of the committee's work.

In a related development, a delegation from the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) to Imrali Prison issued a written statement today following its meeting with Leader Abdullah Ocalan on July 25.

The delegation explained that "the meeting, which lasted three and a half hours, addressed developments in the political process and recent meetings held with the Turkish President, the Minister of Justice, and the heads of political parties."

The meeting also included an exchange of views on the weapons destruction ceremony held on July 11. Ocalan praised the spirit of will, confidence, and determination that pervaded the ceremony, considering it a positive step on the path to peace. He expressed his hope that the new parliamentary committee would be inclusive and effective in achieving its goals of consolidating peace and democracy."

At the end of the meeting, the Leader extended his greetings to the people and all segments of society.
