Imrali delegation revealed content of its meeting with leader Ocalan

Yesterday, Thursday, the Imrali delegation, which included Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Perwin Buldan, the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party deputy for Urfa province, Mithat Sincar, and lawyer Faik Özgür Oral from the Asr Law Office, met again with Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

This meeting is the first of its kind since the formation of the "Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy" parliamentary committee, which was recently announced within the Turkish Parliament to resolve the Kurdish issue, in response to Leader Abdullah Ocalan call for peace and a democratic society.

The Imrali delegation recently revealed in a statement the content of its recent meeting with Leader Abdullah Ocalan, explaining that the meeting lasted for three hours. It also noted that the leader is in good health and that he emphasized that a democratic society, peace, and integration are the three fundamental concepts of this process.

The delegation noted that Leader Abdullah Ocalan emphasized the need to continue the process step by step.

The statement read: "To the Media and Public Opinion

On August 28, we met with Mr. Ocalan in Imrali. The meeting lasted three hours. Mr. Ocalan’s health and morale were excellent.

During the meeting, we discussed in detail the stages of the peace process and the democratic society, and the level we have reached. He stated that the problem we are facing has become so serious that it requires special surgical intervention. He explained that they are handling the process with such sensitivity and have succeeded in bringing it to this day. He stated that our goal is to do everything in our power to end this painful phase.

He stated that a democratic society, peace, and integration are the three main concepts of this process, and that its results can be achieved on this basis. He pointed to the need to take immediate steps at all levels to achieve this, and emphasized the need to begin a new phase.

Mr. Ocalan emphasized that he has always favored a democratic republic and integration based on a democratic society. He added that understanding and embracing this strategic step will benefit all of us and Turkey.

Some political and media circles are simplifying or ignoring this process, and are dealing with it on this basis. Clearly, this approach is detrimental to the process.

On this occasion, he reiterated his belief in eternal friendship between peoples and in peace.
