The management of the Sports City's Temporary Shelter Center for the displaced from Afrin and al-Shahba has begun implementing its winter preparations plan by preparing the floors, covering them with remnants, and pouring concrete into the tent spaces, each with an area of 24 cubic meters. The first phase includes equipping 140 tents, with the plan to be completed later by equipping another 70 tents, in line with the project's phased construction mechanism.

Mostafa Musa, the co-chair of the Sports City's Temporary Shelter Center for the forcibly displaced from Afrin and al-Shahba, explained that the current camps are dilapidated, as they were originally tourist tents unsuitable for use in harsh weather conditions.

Musa said, "Since winter is approaching, we have prepared new tents using bulldozers and building materials. We have laid the floors in the old tent spaces that we temporarily relocated, then poured concrete in their place. We will also surround each tent with a 90-cm-high block frame, over which the tent will be placed to protect it from water and moisture."

Musa added that the administration took into consideration organizing the tents' locations and leaving appropriate spaces between them, in addition to constructing main and side streets and sidewalks to facilitate residents' movement between the tents. He explained that the current phase includes preparing spaces for 140 tents, and after completion, the tents will be moved to them and implementation of the second phase will begin, which includes 70 more tents, as part of the overall plan to improve shelter conditions in preparation for the winter season.
