With the fall of the Baathist regime in Syria on December 8, 2024, the Turkish occupation returned to escalate its attacks on the North and East Syria region, amid continuous official statements characterized by threats and intimidation, in addition to its attempts to sow discord and hate speech among the residents and components of the region, in an attempt to destabilize security and stability.

In this context, the General Advisor of the Armenian Councils in North and East Syria, Imad Tatarian, spoke to ANHA's agency about the Turkish occupation's attempts to sow discord, noting that "the Turkish occupation is trying, through its mercenaries, to create discord among the components of North and East Syria to destabilize the security and stability of the region and target the self-administration project. The Turkish occupation sees this project as a threat to it, so it resorts to spreading discord and sectarianism in the region."

He stressed that they are working to raise awareness among the peoples of the region, and they see that the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Autonomous Administration represent the true nucleus of a democratic, pluralistic, and decentralized Syria.

The Turkish occupation is fighting with the Syrians to serve its interests

He added: "The Syrian people and the components of the region must unite and stand in the face of discord, and not be dragged behind it, because it serves the interests of the Turkish occupation. The occupying state is fighting North and East Syria by sending Syrians to attack it. It is using Syrians to fight Syrians." The people of the region support the SDF

Imad Taterian pointed out, saying: "We in the Armenian Social Council work to hold meetings and visit families on an ongoing basis, with the aim of raising their awareness and warning them of the danger of the sedition spread by the Turkish occupation. We see that our people have become more aware in confronting these plans, and they also support the Syrian Democratic Forces as the only force that has protected the region and has been able to gather all components and sects under its umbrella."

He added: "We are trying with all our might to stand in the face of sedition, and we seek to return everyone who has been deceived by the Turkish occupation to his home, to live in dignity away from the interests of the occupation."

The Autonomous Administration is the safe ship for Syrians

Imad Taterian highlighted the Autonomous Administration project, describing it as the true nucleus of all components of Syria, pointing out that "the Autonomous Administration is not based on one language or one sect. We have never seen the freedom we are experiencing today in Syria before, even in countries that claim democracy."

Imad Tatarian concluded his speech by saying: "We see that the DAA is the ship that will transport the Syrian people to safety, through building a democratic, pluralistic, decentralized Syria. The solidarity and unity of the components is the best evidence of the success of the DAA project, which will be a protector of all components and sects in Syria in general."
