Security and safety cannot be achieved as long as the Turkish state and its mercenaries are present. The displaced face many obstacles preventing their return to their areas.

“The Turkish state and its mercenaries must be held accountable”

Adnan Sheikh Mohammed pointed to numerous violations and crimes committed by the occupying Turkish state in Afrin. He highlighted how Syrian IDPs have returned to their homes in various regions, while only those displaced from Afrin, Serekaniye (Ras al-Ain), and Gire Spi (Tal Abyad) remain waiting to return.

Adnan said: “The Syrian people, with all their components, have reached a firm conviction that all problems will be solved through the project of the democratic nation, and that there is no other path. The time has come to resolve Syria’s problems and end the displacement.”

Speaking about the occupied Afrin Canton, Adnan said: “Afrinis are constantly subjected to violence. There is absolutely no security. We want to return to our homeland under the protection of our fighters.”

Adnan concluded: “We demand international guarantees, accountability for the criminals, and we want to return without fear.”

“Our return will be under the banner of our party”

Ruqayya Ahmad expressed her hope to return to her region soon.

She emphasized that violations against the indigenous population in Afrin continue, and that there is no security at all in Afrin.

“We do not want war, killing, or displacement — we want peace”

Sadiq Mohammed said: “The hope and goal of every displaced person is to return home, and we await that day. The enemy occupies Afrin and commits daily violations against nature and people, then tells us to return and not worry.”
