Hunger strikers: Leader Ocalan's philosophy is people's hope

Today, an event to support prison resistance in northern Kurdistan and Turkey was launched in the city of Qamishlo, under the slogan “We will revive prison resistance and liberate our leader in the spirit and values of the martyrs,” within the framework of the popular initiative in Jazera Canton.

This morning, a hunger strike tent was set up in front of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees building in the city of Qamishlo, with the slogan of the event hung on the walls of the UNHCR building.

Members of civil institutions, councils, patriotic figures, and representatives of political parties joined the tent in which pictures of the leader Abdullah Ocalan were hung, and banners reading (Long live the international leader Abdullah Ocalan) and (There is no life without the leader).

The first day's event began with a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, after which member of the Popular Initiative, Munija Haidar, saluted the resistance of the hunger strikers in the prisons of the Turkish occupation state, first and foremost the resistance of leader Ocalan in Imrali prison.

Munija Haidar noted: “The Turkish state wanted, by putting our people in prisons, to silence the voice of the revolution. What it is pursuing now in the prisons is a continuation of the policy of extermination, since the 1980s, it has been following this dirty path, but thanks to the strong will that the leader planted among the revolutionary peoples, its goals were not achieved, as every male and female prisoner turned into a volcano of anger in their faces, and every prison turned into an arena of struggle and resistance.”

Member of the Martyrs' Families Council in Qamishlo, Masoum Hassan, explained: "The leader's philosophy is the hope of the people, and it has provided us with a free and dignified life. Therefore, Turkey imposes strict isolation on him and prevents meeting with him."

Masoum Hassan stressed: “We will remain in the squares until the leader of humanity, Abdullah Ocalan, is liberated, because his freedom is the only way to achieve peace in the Middle East, and we will fight until the walls of fascist prisons are broken.”

In turn, the administrator of the Culture Body in Jazera Canton, the artist Danish Botan, said, “All members of society and components of the region must escalate the struggle in the face of the policies of isolation and extermination in accordance with the philosophy of the democratic nation and the thought of the leader Abdullah Ocalan.”

The hunger strike will continue until tomorrow, Friday, with the hunger strikers receiving visiting delegations from the city’s neighborhoods and institutions.
