HPG: Turkish occupation army continues its attacks, two of our fighters martyred

The Press Center of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) issued a statement today regarding the Turkish occupation's attacks on the Mediya Defense Zones and the guerrilla forces' response to these attacks. The statement read:

"Guerrilla areas in the Mediya Defense Zones are being bombed with drones, shells, and heavy weapons. Our tunnels have also been bombed with explosive weapons. The Turkish army's attacks are concentrated intensely on the guerrilla tunnels in the Metina and Martyr Dalil areas west of Zap. As a result of these attacks by the occupation army, our comrade Welat was martyred on May 27, 2025, and our comrade Bavar on May 30, 2025. The records of our two martyred comrades will be announced at a later date.

Our forces have responded as necessary to the ongoing attacks within the framework of Mediya Defense Zones. As long as the occupation activities and attacks by the Turkish army to eliminate the guerrillas continue, And the Kurdistan Freedom Fighters, our forces will continue to respond as necessary to defend themselves." The People's Defense Forces (HPG) Press Center reported the following information regarding the attacks on the guerrilla forces and the response to those attacks:

"Turkish Army Attacks:

Between May 30 and June 4, our tunnels in the Seri Metina and Şilazı squares in the Metina region were bombed with explosives 15 times, and the resistance square on Amediya Hill in the Şahid Zilıl area west of Zap was bombed 13 times.

Between May 29 and June 4, our tunnels in the resistance square on Amediya Hill in the Şahid Zilıl area west of Zap were bombed with bulldozers and excavators 17 times, and the resistance square in Şilazı in the Metina region was bombed 19 times.

Between May 29 and June 4, the squares of Zengel Hill, Kani Sarık, Dirish, Meje, Zivik, Dashta Kafia, Karkaş, Spindar, Kon Hill, and Koza in Gari region were bombed with heavy weapons and shells. The resistance squares in Seri Metina, Shilaz, Baz, and Beşili in the Metina region, and the resistance squares on Amediya Hill and Bahar Hill in the Shahid Dalil area west of Zap.

Our forces' response:

On May 30, at 8:10 a.m., our forces targeted targets in an offensive position in the resistance square on Amediya Hill, in the Shahid Dalil area west of Zap, using technical weapons. One vehicle equipped with a radar system was hit.

On May 30, at 11:20 a.m. and 1:40 p.m., our forces targeted targets in an offensive position in the resistance square on Amediya Hill, located in the Shahid Dalil area west of Zap, using technical weapons. They destroyed a container and a tent, and killed an occupying soldier.

On May 31, at 8:40 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., our forces targeted enemy forces positioned in the Shahid Dalil area west of Zap, who were launching attacks on our tunnels in the resistance square on Amediya Hill. Using technical weapons, one Turkish soldier was killed and two others were wounded.

On May 31, at 2:00 PM, our forces destroyed an explosive-laden drone that had been sent to attack our tunnels in the resistance square on Amdiya Hill, located in the Shahid Dalil area west of Zap.

On June 1, at 6:40 AM, our forces targeted targets in an offensive position in the resistance square on Amediya Hill, in the Shahid Dalil area west of Zap, using technical weapons. They destroyed a container and killed Turkish soldier.

On June 1, at 2:36 PM, our forces responded with heavy weapons to the enemy's provocative and inciting calls in the resistance square on Amediya Hill, in the Shahid Dalil area west of Zap.

On June 2, at 1:00 PM, our forces targeted targets in an offensive position in the resistance square on Amediya Hill, located in the area. Martyr Dalil Gharb Zab, using technical weapons, hit a tent.

On June 4, at 6:45 PM, our forces targeted an armored bulldozer constructing a road for the occupation in the resistance square in Bishili in the Metina region, using technical weapons, resulting in its damage and destruction.
