The Executive Board of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) today issued a statement congratulating the people of Kurdistan and the Muslim world on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

“Kurdistan and the Kurdish people are going through a sensitive phase; in the north, dialogues and meetings are taking place in search of solutions to the Kurdish issue, while efforts continue in Rojava, and in Southern Kurdistan, internal issues and troubles with the Baghdad government continue. In Eastern Kurdistan, the pressure on the people and prisoners continues, along with attacks on livelihoods and the continuation of the execution policy. Under these circumstances, our people are strengthening their struggle for freedom across Kurdistan and beyond, and we welcome Eid al-Adha amidst these challenges

The statement adds: “Despite all our dialogues and attempts to achieve peace, the situation in our homeland remains complex; the attacks and plans for extermination have not stopped. Therefore, at this delicate and sensitive stage, it is the responsibility of all Kurdish forces to be vigilant and confront these attacks and evil plans. On this occasion, we call on all Kurds and Kurdistanis to stand firmly against the occupation, raise their voices in protest against the occupiers, and promote unity.”

“Despite the difficult circumstances, we are hopeful and confident that our people will soon celebrate their holidays and festivals in peace, tranquility and freedom on their free land,” the statement said.

On this occasion, he congratulated all prisoners and freedom fighters, the people of Kurdistan, and the entire Islamic world.
