Local sources inside the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood informed ANHA agency that the Syrian Interim Government forces launched a campaign of raids on the homes of Kurdish citizens, particularly in the eastern part of the neighborhood, on Saturday.

The raids, which came as a surprise and without warrants, were described as "brutal," in which violence was used, and mobile phones were confiscated and thoroughly searched in a manner that violated privacy, in addition to the searches of homes.

These raids are a continuation of the recent arrests of four young men and a woman on the background of raising Kurdish symbols in al-Jabanat area of eastern Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood.

One of the civilians contacted by ANHA agency indicated that the raids created a state of panic, especially among women and children, due to the unjustified abuse and "brutality" displayed during the searches.

It is worth mentioning that a number of university students in Aleppo city have received death threats for wearing Kurdish symbols in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods.
