Through its long and arduous struggle, the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) has built within Kurdish society and the region a political, cultural, intellectual, and defensive awareness, along with a will and faith in Kurdish identity.

The educational shortcomings in Homs and its countryside — including damaged schools, overcrowded classrooms, lack of equipment, books, and heating — are worsening the quality of education. This drives students to drop out, threatens their future opportunities, and negatively affects the country’s social and economic development.

The National Hospital in Suwayda has been without CT scan and MRI services for the fifth consecutive month. The MRI machine went out of service after being hit by gunfire that caused a helium leak, while the CT machine broke down due to operating beyond capacity during July’s escalation and repeated power outages. This has worsened patients’ suffering and increased their reliance on private centers.

Residents of Damascus complain about the interference of armed individuals carrying security badges in daily life, especially in sports clubs, causing fear and financial losses. Meanwhile, the government complaints office lacks public trust and does not provide real protection for citizens.

Dr. Tarek Al-Ahmad, a member of the Syrian National Bloc, stated that despite the narratives circulating about recent developments in Homs, the “de facto authority” bears real responsibility for what is happening. He warned that policies based on justification and the negative use of media threaten to ignite Syria as a whole. He called on the transitional government to take decisive measures different from those taken during its first year of governance.
