The Internal Security Directorate in Hasakah has banned carrying weapons, openly moving around with them inside the city, and firing weapons for any reason. It warned that violators will face strict measures, including the confiscation of their weapons and legal action.

In a statement, the directorate said the decision falls within its responsibility to maintain security and public order and protect citizens’ lives and property. It aims to prevent disorder, stop residents from being terrorized, and ensure public safety.

The directorate clarified that the carrying of weapons is restricted to the state, represented by official security and military forces, solely while carrying out their official duties. It stressed that the decision would be strictly enforced and violators held accountable.

The directorate called on Hasakah residents to cooperate fully with security forces and report any violations.
