Hasaka governor discusses Afrin displaced return with government delegation

A security and political delegation from the Syrian Interim Government arrived in Hasaka on Sunday and met with the governor of Hasaka and leaders of the Internal Security Forces in Hasaka.

Governor Nour Eddin Ahmed, along with Mahmoud Khalil; the member of the General Command of the Internal Security Forces in Hasaka, and Nesrin Abdullah; the leader in the Asayish (Internal Security Forces), received a delegation of the team appointed by the Interim Government President Ahmad al-Sharaa to follow up on various issues.

The visiting delegation included Abbas Hussein; the director of the Political Affairs Department, officials from Aleppo Governorate, and officials from the Afrin region.

According to the Hasaka Media Directorate, the meeting focused on discussing and arranging a mechanism for the return of Afrin displaced residents currently residing in Hasaka and its surrounding countryside to their towns and homes.

On Saturday, Mahmoud Khalil; the leader in the Internal Security Forces, stated on his X platform account that the first group of Afrin displaced residents, comprising 400 families, would depart for their homes on Monday.
