Cities across the Jazira Canton are witnessing daily sit-ins and protests by the families of detainees, who are demanding clarity on the fate of their detained relatives.

In this context, the mother of detainee Ivan Javin Saleh, who was detained in the city of Raqqa three months ago, called for their release and emphasized the importance of a unified position to resolve the case.

“We only ask today that our children be released. We have been living a real tragedy for three months. These young men do not belong in prisons or detention,” she added.

Mohammad Ramadan, a cousin of Ivan, also called for the detainees to be returned as soon as possible, expressing the pain families are enduring due to their absence.

Khawla Khalil, another relative, stressed that the issue of detainees is not limited to their families alone but concerns all people of the region.

She called for an end to injustice and the realization of justice, questioning the fate of agreements that have yet to be implemented.

Furthermore, Alfa Sheikh, Ivan’s sister, spoke about the death of her other brother, Raman, some time ago. She noted that Ivan’s fate has remained unknown since his detention three months ago, expressing hope that he is still alive and will return safely to his family.

Through these ongoing activities, families continue to appeal to the relevant authorities to reveal the fate of their children and to secure their release without delay.
