General Security of Transitional Government detain 3 young men in Latakia

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a patrol belonging to the General Security Forces of the Transitional Government arrested three young men from the Alawite community in the Bahar al-Abhath area near the Blue Beach in Latakia yesterday evening. Their route was intercepted, and their mobile phones were searched, revealing images linked to symbols of the former regime on one of the devices, after which the detainees were taken to an unknown destination.

The SOHR reported that five young men were targeted, two of whom managed to escape, while the remaining three were detained. Meanwhile, their families received threatening messages from one of the operatives, stating, “Set up a mourning tent,” implying the severity of their situation.

The families of the detainees remain deeply concerned amid ongoing uncertainty about the whereabouts of their children, urgently calling for the disclosure of their detention locations. It is worth noting that the young men originate from the Dattour neighborhood in the city.
