Five trucks of medical aid arrive in Kobani, Health Authority it can hardly enough

Humanitarian and living conditions in Kobani continue to deteriorate amid ongoing attacks by mercenaries of the interim government on the city’s countryside and a nine-day siege, which has led to a shortage of essential supplies for children and daily necessities.

In this context, five Red Cross aid trucks arrived in Kobani today, loaded with medicines, water, and hygiene materials.

Regarding the aid, Fadel Jawish, a member of Kobani’s Health Authority, told ANHA agency that the delivered medicines are insufficient to meet the population’s needs, emphasizing that lifting the siege immediately is the primary solution.

Jawish noted that the shipments do not cover the needs of cancer, diabetes, or kidney disease patients, nor the injured resulting from the attacks. He explained that what was delivered consists of minor medicines that are inadequate, especially amid the continued siege and ongoing attacks on the city.

He warned that the ongoing siege prevents the delivery of specialized medicines required for critical cases, which threatens to further exacerbate the health and humanitarian situation in Kobani.
