The Martyrs' Families Council organized a memorial ceremony for 56 martyrs who died during the months of March, April and May in different circumstances and places.

The ceremony was held in the hall of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), in the presence of the martyrs' families and city residents, and began with a minute of silence in honor of their souls. The ceremony was followed by the screening of a film, including speeches by leader Abdullah Ocalan about the importance of martyrdom in realizing the rights of the Kurdish people and other components, as well as scenes and pictures documenting the sacrifices of the martyrs who were commemorated.

In his speech, Walat Zardasht, a member of the Martyrs' Families Council, referred to the great sacrifices made by the Kurdish people and other components to preserve the unity of the Syrian territory and counter the spread of extremist and “terrorist” ideology. He added that Syria is going through a transitional phase that requires the authority in Damascus to prove that it is different from the Baathist authority, and to involve all components in drawing the features of the future Syria, which the Kurds, Alawites, and Druze have carried the burden of defending throughout history until today.

Zardasht affirmed the commitment of the martyrs' families to fulfill their vows and continue to support the SDF in order to achieve a vision of a free, decentralized, and democratic Syria that guarantees the rights of all components of the Syrian people.

At the end of the ceremony, the documents of the martyrs were read and handed over to their families amidst cheers expressing pride and appreciation for their sacrifices.
