Today, the European delegation visiting North and East Syria, which includes 12 figures, including members of the European and British Parliaments and members of civil society organizations, met in two separate meetings with the co-chairs of the Syrian Democratic Council, its representatives, and the leadership of the Syrian Democratic Forces.

The parties discussed the general situation in Syria following recent developments, most notably the fall of the Ba'athist regime, the current government in Damascus, relations with North and East Syria, and the agreement between the government, the military forces, and the autonomous administration in the region.

The ongoing attacks on North and East Syria, the suffering of the region's people, and their needs for effective participation in the political process and the restructuring of state institutions were also discussed.

The European delegation, comprising 12 members, including members of the European and British Parliaments and members of civil society organizations, arrived in the region on Monday, April 14. They visited the Department of Foreign Relations of the Democratic Autonomous Administration in Qamishlo.

Through this visit, the delegation aims to provide the necessary assistance to support economic projects related to climate change and to strengthen relations between the Democratic Autonomous Administration and the European Union.

One of the delegation members explained that they seek to learn from the administration about policies and how to preserve democracy in a region experiencing turmoil.

He also pointed to the importance of exploring ways to cooperate on common issues such as security, climate change, and migration.

This visit comes at a critical time, with the growing need for international cooperation to support stability in North and East Syria.
