The Tell Tamer City Council, in coordination with the People's Municipality and relevant institutions, announced on Tuesday the formation of a special emergency committee to monitor the condition of agricultural lands and respond quickly to any emergency that may threaten crops, with the harvest season approaching and temperatures rising in the region.

The committee was formed amid growing concerns about the outbreak of fires or inflicting damage to agricultural lands, prompting relevant authorities to raise their level of preparedness and take precautionary measures to protect the wheat and barley crops, which constitute a primary source of income for residents and farmers in the region.

In this context, Khaled Youssef al-Khalaf; the co-chair of the Tell Tamer City Council, stated that the council, in coordination with the People's Municipality and relevant institutions, formed a special emergency committee to protect the agricultural season. He emphasized the need to raise the level of preparedness in all institutions, committees, and communes, and to be ready for any emergency that may occur during the harvest period.

Al-Khalaf pointed out that the region is going through a phase that requires great awareness and cooperation from residents, calling on everyone to act responsibly and immediately report any fire or danger that may threaten agricultural lands, in order to avoid any losses to crops.

He made clear that the committee is working to coordinate with relevant authorities and secure the necessary equipment and resources for rapid intervention, in addition to conducting awareness campaigns for residents and farmers on fire prevention methods and how to deal with emergencies.

He also emphasized the important role of communes and health and service committees in monitoring the conditions of villages and agricultural lands, and contributing to raising awareness among residents to preserve agricultural resources and ensure the success of the current agricultural season.

The co-chair of the Tell Tamer City Council stressed that protecting agricultural crops is a collective responsibility that falls on everyone, calling on residents and farmers to cooperate with emergency teams and adhere to preventive guidelines to safeguard the livelihoods of residents and the source of income for hundreds of families in the region.
