On Tuesday afternoon, the first convoys of pilgrims from Jazira region set off towards Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj rituals for the year 2026, amid a large participation from the locals who gathered to bid farewell to their relatives.

Qamishlo city witnessed the departure of a convoy of pilgrims from Jazira region on Tuesday afternoon, heading to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform the pilgrimage of 2026, amid an atmosphere filled with joy, prayers, and wishes for the pilgrims' safe journey and return.

The convoy departed from the March 12th Martyrs Stadium in Qamishlo, with approximately 100 elderly pilgrims from the cities of Qamishlo, Amuda, and Girkê Legê participation, amid a heavy crowd attendance of relatives and local residents to bid them farewell.

According to information, this year's pilgrimage includes approximately 500 people from the cities and towns of Jazira region, who are scheduled to depart in organized convoys.

The pilgrimage season is one of the most prominent religious events, and receives widespread attention from the people of the region.

The Saudi Supreme Court had previously announced that last Monday was the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah for the current Hijri year, with the Day of Arafah falling on Tuesday, May 26, and Eid al-Adha on the following Wednesday.
