“elections will be crowned with success”

The Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries intensified their bombardment, via UAVs and artillery, on North and East of Syria. On May 31, a Turkish occupation march bombed the villages of the city of Tal Hamis, as a result of which 4 fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces were martyred and 12 people were injured, including women and children.

A Kurdish Red Crescent crew was also targeted in the vicinity of the city of Qamishlo, and on June 2, the Turkish occupation army bombed the countryside of the city of Qamishlo, as a result of which fires broke out in farmers’ crops and dozens of hectares were burned, and emergency and firefighting teams were targeted with gunfire to prevent them from extinguishing the fires.

Citizen Awad al-Antar, a resident of the city of Deir ez-Zor, confirmed that the attacks launched by the Turkish occupation state on civilians and infrastructure in North and East Syria contradict human rights and the rights of political participation that contribute to building society.

Participation in elections is participation in building society

Awad al-Antar called on the people of North and East Syria to participate in the municipal elections scheduled to be held on June 11, and explained that participation in them is participation in building society, a duty and a right that cannot be prevented.

Antar strongly condemned the Turkish attacks against the North and East Syria, and stressed that they were attacks against the will of the people of the region. He pointed out that the election process is a decisive step towards achieving democracy and restoring political legitimacy, and that it gives the people of the region an opportunity to choose their representatives and determine the future of their country in a free and democratic manner.

Al-Antar noted that the Turkish occupation state's fear of the success of the elections process in the North and East Syria is a major motivation for launching these attacks, and that the success of the elections will lead to changes that may weaken Turkey's policies against the region.

In turn, citizen Masoud al-Ahmad condemned the Turkish occupation attacks against the region, and said: “The continuation of these attacks poses a threat to stability and peace in our regions, and we categorically reject these attacks.”

Al-Ahmad said: “We know very well that the aim of these attacks on our regions is to undermine the nation’s democratic project and peaceful coexistence among peoples and to thwart the electoral process.”

Al-Ahmad stressed: “The international community must intervene to stop the Turkish attacks against the region, since it claims to protect human rights.”

The elections will be successful

Aida al-Golan said: “Our participation today in the general elections process is a clear message to the Turkish occupation state, which is striving to distort the image of the elections and the people of North and East Syria, and to show that it is incapable of holding elections and managing itself.”

Aida al-Golan explained: "We will show them (the Turkish occupation state) exactly the opposite, and we will confirm that we are able to participate in the elections, and we will continue despite the pressure and media campaigns targeting the residents of the North and East Syria."

Aida al-Golan noted: "The elections will be crowned with success, and we will prove to them that we are capable of managing our regions politically and security-wise. We will overcome this stage with strength and will, and we always strive to achieve the success of the Autonomous Administration project because it is our administration and represents us."
